BJP condemns vendetta against party MP Rajinder Gupta

Jalandhar, May 1, 2026: Manoranjan Kalia, Former Minister Punjab and Member National Executive Bhartiya Janata Party today condemned the political vendetta by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party against the BJP Rajya Sabha member Rajinder Gupta.
In a statement Kalia said that by getting the industrial premises of Gupta raided by the officials of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, the AAP government had only proved how authoritarian and dictatorial it is.
He said, Rajinder Gupta is not just an RS MP but is a very well-respected industrialist who has invested huge money in Punjab and generated thousands of jobs. He was also adored Padam Sri Award in 2007 for his exemplary work in the field of trade and Industry.
It is pertinent to note that Rajinder Gupta had been Vice Chairman of State Planning Board during Akali-BJP Government as well as Congress Government. Aam Adami Party Government also made him Vice Chairman of Punjab State Economic Policy & Planning Board and there after Member Rajya Sabha.
“What message does the AAP government want to convey with such vindictive raids?” He asked, while warning that such dictatorial actions will only discourage the industrialists and businessmen from investing in Punjab.
Kalia further expressed complete solidarity with their party MP and warned the officials of the PPCB against any arbitrary action. “No government stays permanently, be careful, as you will be held accountable for all your acts of omission and commission”, he warned the officials against acting like pawns in the hands of the AAP government.
