Bhagat Phool Singh's vision of women education and empowerment played an important role in providing equality to women: VC Prof Sudesh

Alumni are an invaluable asset of any institution and Alumni Association is an important platform to bring them together. Prof. Sudesh, Vice Chancellor of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, said this as the chief guest of the Annual Alumni Meet-2024 organized today.

Khanpur Kalan, February, 24, 2024: Alumni are an invaluable asset of any institution and Alumni Association is an important platform to bring them together. Prof. Sudesh, Vice Chancellor of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, said this as the chief guest of the Annual Alumni Meet-2024 organized today.  

VC Prof. Sudesh paid tribute to the great educationist Bhagat Phool Singh, Behan Subhashini Devi and Saint Ravidas. She urged the alumni to take forward the strong cultural heritage of Bhagat Phool Singh. She said alumni across the world are making the institute proud.

VC Prof. Sudesh said that Bhagat Phool Singh's concept of women education and empowerment has played an important role in providing equality to women. Today, active participation of women is seen in every field including science and technology. She also appealed to portray the women in songs and other cultural programs with dignity and respect. The VC said that the alumni must share their suggestions and ideas for the academic development of the university. 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh along with other distinguished guests formally inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. This alumni meet was organized by Alumni Association and the Education Department. Program Director and Chairperson of the Education Department, Dr. Anu Balhara welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Dr. Kiran Kalkal presented the annual report of the Alumni Association. She said that the Alumni Association will provide financial help to economically weaker girl students. Various cultural programs including haryanvi dance, play, punjabi giddha etc presented by the students enthralled the audiences. 

Earlier in the morning, VC Prof. Sudesh along with University stakeholders paid rich tributes to Bhagat Phool Singh on his 139th birth anniversary today. A Havan program was organized in University Yagyashala.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh presented the Reena Abhishek Award, sponsored by alumnus Dr. Reena, to BAMS-1 topper Ekta and BAMS-2 topper Tanvi. Former Principal of M.S.M. Institute of Ayurveda, Dr. Vijay Kaushik announced to honor BAMS final year topper from next year. On this occasion, former students Hukum Kaur, Sandhya, Dr Anjali, Poonam and others shared experiences of their student life. The selfie points created at the venue were the center of attraction among the alumni.

Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. Sanket Vij, Registrar Prof. Neelam Malik, Alumni Director Dr. Vivek Aggarwal, Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Shweta Hooda, Controller of Examinations Dr. Sandeep Dahiya, Director Public Relations Lt. Col. (Dr.) Anil Balhara along with Deans, heads of departments, professors, non-teaching staff, research scholars and students were present on the occasion.
