Ayushi Sandhu awarded best poster presentation award

Chandigarh, October 10, 2023: Ayushi Sandhu, a PhD research scholar in the Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been awarded best poster presentation award in the national conference IMMUNOCON-2023, The Golden Jubilee Conference of the Indian Immunology Society held at AIIMS, New Delhi, India from 5th to 8th October 2023. Her work is focussed on understanding the key molecular/immunological pathways behind the virus induced asthma exacerbation, which results in large number of emergency visits of the patients due to breathing difficulties and known to induce resistance to conventional treatment/management strategies against allergic asthma. She has been working for her PhD thesis since 2021 under the supervision of Prof Amarjit Singh Naura, currently the Chairperson of the department, whose broad area of the research work is pulmonary immunology. The title of her presentation was ‘Ineffectiveness of Dexamethasone on Poly (I:C) mediated asthma exacerbation in mice’. The support received under the DBT-BUILDER grant to conducte the present work is highly acknowledged.
