Chandigarh, July 31, 2025: Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today hosted Dr. Manjeet Sheoran, IPS, for an engaging and highly inspiring interactive session with its students and faculty.
The event was presided over by Principal-cum-Professor of the Dental Institute Professor Deepak Kumar Gupta.
Addressing a packed auditorium, Dr. Sheoran shared profound insights from his illustrious career in the Indian Police Service. He underscored the critical importance of integrity, discipline, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to public service. Dr. Sheoran also highlighted the growing significance of cyber security awareness and delivered a strong message against ragging, elaborating on its severe legal consequences and ethical ramifications.
Encouraging students to strive for excellence beyond their dental studies, Dr. Sheoran motivated them to explore broader career horizons, particularly the UPSC Civil Services. He emphasised this as one of the nation's most prestigious examinations, opening doors to pivotal roles such as IAS, IPS, and IFS, and described it as a powerful avenue for contributing meaningfully to national development and public welfare.
Dr. Bharat Kumar, Chief Medical Officer, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, delivered an insightful lecture on the role of forensic odontology in crime investigation to the students.
Professor Deepak Kumar Gupta emphasised that such interactions are instrumental in fostering well-rounded and socially conscious healthcare professionals.
