AYUSH Department Conducting Health Screening at 18 Locations Through Yoga Camps: DC Sachin Gupta
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed the AYUSH Department to continue on-the-spot health screening of senior citizens attending yoga camps, including checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, and joint-related ailments.
Rohtak, April 8, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed the AYUSH Department to continue on-the-spot health screening of senior citizens attending yoga camps, including checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, and joint-related ailments.
Chairing the monthly review meeting at the Camp Office, he informed that screening activities are being carried out at 18 locations through 18 yoga assistants, along with health services at the Sector-3 Polyclinic, PGIMS, and Civil Hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner shared that during the last month, the department recorded 29,806 OPD consultations and organized 73 health camps, including 8 in schools, 14 at Anganwadi centres, and 51 at dispensaries. During these camps, 1,134 individuals were screened for blood pressure, 1,032 for blood sugar, and 1,651 for joint-related issues, and medicines were provided as required.
He said that health screening is being conducted across multiple villages including Asan, Aawal, Bainsi, Bakheta, Bhali Anandpur, Garhi Bohar, Ghizhi, Ismaila, Kakrana, Kharenti, Kultana, Ladhaot, Makdauli Kalan, Nandal, Nayabans, Rithal, Sampla, Sisar Khas, and Sundana. The district currently has 68 AYUSH OPD centres providing healthcare services, along with regular yoga and pranayama sessions at rural gyms and AYUSH Arogya Mandirs.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the department to begin preparations for the International Yoga Day (June 21) under the 100-day programme. He stated that yoga sessions will be organized in schools, colleges, police lines, and other locations to promote health and wellness.
Emphasizing preventive healthcare, he noted that yoga and AYUSH practices play a vital role in improving public health and directed officials to intensify awareness campaigns through schools, dispensaries, and community centres. He also instructed yoga trainers to conduct regular demonstrations to encourage greater public participation.
District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Satpal presented a detailed overview of departmental activities and achievements during the meeting.
