Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an Awareness Programme on National Youth Day in collaboration with MY BHARAT, to pay rich tribute to the life, vision, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda Ji.
Chandigarh, January 12, 2026: Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an Awareness Programme on National Youth Day in collaboration with MY BHARAT, to pay rich tribute to the life, vision, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda Ji.
The programme aimed to inspire youth to imbibe the values of self-belief, discipline, service to society, and nation-building, as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and youth volunteers.
As part of the programme, a screening of a documentary/film on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was organised, highlighting his powerful message to the youth. This was followed by experience-sharing sessions, where participating youth shared their reflections, learnings, and inspiration drawn from Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy.
Several youth-centric activities and competitions were also conducted to encourage leadership, creativity, and social responsibility among students.
A special Mindfulness and Meditation Session was conducted by BTGT (Bridging The Gap Together) Education Foundation, Chandigarh, focusing on mental well-being, self-awareness, and inner balance. The session was well received and appreciated by the participants for its practical relevance in today’s fast-paced life.
Prof. Monica Munjial Singh, Chairperson, and Dr. Gaurav Gaur, Faculty of Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, welcomed the guest speakers and motivated the students by emphasising the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals in shaping responsible and empowered youth.
The programme concluded with a message encouraging young minds to channel their energy towards positive action, social service, and holistic development, in line with the spirit of National Youth Day.
