Ashwani Jaitly ‘Prem’s’ Debut Ghazal Collection Ishq Canvas Released by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Ludhiana
Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Ludhiana, held an important literary meeting at Dr. Parminder Singh Hall, Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana, under the chairmanship of Dr. Gurikbal Singh. The members discussed the Sabha's constitution and functioning, with participating writers offering several constructive suggestions for its betterment.
Ludhiana, July 14, 2026: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Ludhiana, held an important literary meeting at Dr. Parminder Singh Hall, Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana, under the chairmanship of Dr. Gurikbal Singh. The members discussed the Sabha's constitution and functioning, with participating writers offering several constructive suggestions for its betterment.
It was unanimously decided that the Sabha will hold its meetings on the fourth Sunday of every month at 11:00 a.m. It was also resolved that each meeting would feature a discussion on either a distinguished writer or a notable book.
On the occasion, the Sabha formally released Ashwani Jaitly 'Prem''s debut ghazal collection, Ishq Canvas.
Releasing the book, Dr. Gur Iqbal Singh observed that Ashwani's ghazals are deeply rooted in love while simultaneously expressing profound pain, sorrow, and emotional suffering. He remarked that the longing inherent in love and the ache of waiting form an integral part of the poet's inner memories, where shattered dreams often create an emotional universe of their own.
Speaking about the collection, Dr. Gulzar Pandher said that Ashwani lives the ghazal both consciously and subconsciously, making it an inseparable part of his creative existence.
Manjinder Dhanoa, General Secretary of the Sabha, highlighted how the poet portrays love as a force that permeates every particle of nature.
Poet Meet Anmol remarked that Ashwani's ghazals transcend personal emotions and embrace society and the entire world, ultimately celebrating the spirit of humanity.
Inderjit Pal Kaur noted that the intensity and sincerity of love reflected in Ashwani's ghazals are so profound that the poet appears willing to surrender himself completely in its pursuit.
Among those present were Rajdeep Toor, Jaspreet 'Amaltas', Jasdev Singh Lallton, and Vijay Kumar of House of Literature, along with several prominent members of the literary fraternity.
