Mumbai, 08 July, 2025: Amazon’s free streaming service, Amazon MX Player, transports viewers to the gritty lanes of 1990s Mumbai with First Copy, a gripping drama where ambition, betrayal, and love collide in a world ruled by film piracy. The series boasts a powerhouse cast featuring Munawar Faruqui, Saqib Ayub, Gulshan Grover, Krystle D’Souza, Ashi Singh, and Meiyang Chang in pivotal roles. Among the standout performances, Ashi Singh essays the role of Afreen — the quietly resilient wife of Arif, the show’s complex protagonist.
Surprisingly, Ashi signed onto the project before even going through the full script.“Honestly, I was a little unsure at first. I had only heard a two-liner about the story when I said yes — it was a gut decision,” she admits. But once I read all ten episodes — over just two days — I remember thinking, thank God I agreed to this.”
