Bengaluru, June 10, 2018: Asha Bhosle, the queen of Bollywood music, whose legendary voice has stood the test of time and continues to captivate generations, performed for the first time in Namma Bengaluru at city’s favourite shopping & entertainment destination Phoenix Marketcity. The iconic voice of Ashaji filled the chilly night on a Saturday in a concert ‘The Sound of Silence’. The legendary music diva was accompanied by renowned singer Javed Ali who is popular among the younger generation for his rendition of some of the most popular songs in recent times.

Known for an oeuvre that encompasses a carefree lilt and an experiential quality, the versatile songstress regaled Bengaluru music lovers in the magic of mesmerising songs of the golden era leaving the audience spell bound with her inimitable voice. Asha Bhosle sung few of very popular numbers like Ye mera dil pyar ka deewana, Chura liya hai , Piya tu ab to aaja, Dil le gayi le gayi, Ghumkha gira re and many more. This was her maiden live show in the garden city, even though she has sung in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam in the past. Despite the decades in the industry, she still holds sway and it was amply evident with the crowd reaction on Saturday.

Asha Bhosle has sung over 12,000 songs in over 20 Indian languages apart from Hindi and has been acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World records as the most recorded artist in the music industry. Renowned for her voice range Ashaji is credited for her versatility in singing film songs, pop, Ghazals, Bhajans, Traditional, Classical and Qawwalis. Even today, some of the songs sung by her decades ago, find favour with the masses in their reincarnated versions.
