Ludhiana, February 21, 2023: The PG Department of Punjabi, Ramgarhia Girls College celebrated Antarrashtriya Matra Bhasha Divas with great fervour today. 


On this occasion, a lecture on " *Gurbani- A Treasure of Spiritual Wisdom* " was organised. Rajpal Singh from Amritsar was the keynote speaker. He was accompanied by Satvant Kaur. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur and Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Head, PG. Department of Punjabi, accorded a warm welcome to the guests. S. Rajpal Singh emphasized on the significance of gurbani. He said that it gives guidance on how to live our lives. One should practise its teachings of truthful living, service to humanity and devotion to God. He asserted that only those cultures survive who are rooted in and stay connected with their religions and mother language. He asked the students to commit themselves to the promotion of their mother tongue Punjabi and determine to render their services to it. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur said that our mother language connect us with our heritage and defines our socio cultural identity. 

Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council added that we must leave no stone unturned to promote our rich language because only then we would be able to pay homage to the 'Gurmukhi' language. 

Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council said that the celebration of mother language should not end with the auspicious day, instead every day should be celebrated as Matra Bhasha Divas. 

Dr. Harbinder Kaur thanked S.Rajpal Singh for sharing his valuable ideas with the students.
