An Annual Convocation of Guru Nanak Girls College, Ludhiana being held on Thursday.

Ludhiana, April 2, 2015: Annual Convocation of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana was held on Thursday.  Gopal Krishan Chatrath, Syndic PU & Ex-MLA & Ex-Advocate General was the Chief Guest on the occasion.  He was received and escorted by NCC cadets. 
The function commenced by taking the blessings of Lord Almighty wherein the students recited shabad “Dehe Shiva Var Mohe”. Degrees were conferred on 908 students including 529 Graduates from the disciplines of BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BCA B.Sc. (FD) and BBA and 379 Post Graduates. Roll of honour was also awarded to 17 students and 49 students were given College Colour. 
Principal Dr. Charanjit Mahal presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the college in various academics, sports and extracurricular activities. She said the College has become one of the leading Educational Institutes in the State as it is extending education through multifarious courses to an exorbitant number of 5000 girls. She went on to say that education at Guru Nanak Girls College is a blend of cultural, social, moral and spiritual values. 
Gopal Krishan Chatrath felicitated the students and exhorted them to strive for excellence in the present globalised world and accept valiantly the challenges which life throws. The-State-of-Art centrally air conditioned Guest Room was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest. Dr. Hardaljeet Singh Gosal, Director, PU Regional Centre, Dr. Janmit Singh, Principal Shri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Dr. Satish Sharma, Director (Colleges), DAV College Management Committee, Ashok Jain, President Atam Vallabh Jain College, Dr. Mukesh Arora, Senator, PU, Chandigarh, Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Girls College, Dr. Narinder Sandhu, Principal Ramgarhia Girls College, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Associate Professor SCD Govt. College for Boys also graced the occasion. Members of Guru Nanak Education Trust Prof. S.S. Mahal, Ishwarjot Singh Cheema and Harmohan Singh Guddu were also present on this event. 
Gurbir Singh, President of Guru Nanak Education Trust congratulated the degree holders on their success and wished them good luck for their future. He also encouraged the students to develop a true learning spirit in them.
