Amazon MX Player’s Pyar, Paisa, Profit trailer captures the hustle, heartbreak, and ambition of life at a VC firm

Mumbai, May 5 2025: Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, today announced its upcoming youth drama, Pyar, Paisa, Profit, based on Durjoy Datta's bestselling novel, ‘Now That You’re Rich…Let’s Fall In Love’. The freshly dropped trailer of the series teases a whirlwind ride through the hustle, heartbreak, and ambition that define life at a venture capital firm. Created by Mamta Patnaik, in collaboration with Durjoy Datta and Sumrit Shahi, and directed by Prashant Singh, director of Jabariya Jodi and Dehati Ladke, the series is produced by Yash A. Patnaik, Inspire Films Limited. Brought to life by a talented ensemble cast, including Mihir Ahuja, RJ Mahvash, Neil Bhoopalam, Shivangi Khedkar, and Ashish Raghav, Pyar, Paisa, Profit is all set to stream exclusively on Amazon MX Player from 7th May, for free.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the glittering but unforgiving world of one of Mumbai’s top VC firms, where Abhijeet, a brilliant, small-town boy from Delhi, joins the rat race to chase a life he’s only seen in glossy magazines. Alongside him are Saurabh, Shruti and Garima, each driven by desire, love, or desperation. Their lives change completely when they land the most coveted jobs in the country, replete with fancy perks and designer privileges. But the high life comes at a cost. As they’re forced to navigate ruthless bosses, office politics, forbidden romances, and looming layoffs, their bonds are tested and their integrity stretched thin. And when the very thing that brought them together — Money —starts tearing them apart, survival becomes the only goal.

Talking about the series, Amogh Dusad, Head of Content, Amazon MX Player, shared, “At Amazon MX Player, we are committed to telling stories that mirror the aspirations, struggles, and emotions of India’s youth. Pyar, Paisa, Profit perfectly captures the pulse of a generation navigating the chaos of ambition, love, and survival in a hyper-competitive world. It’s fresh, fast-paced, and deeply relatable, and we’re excited to bring it to viewers across India, for free.”

Mihir Ahuja, who breathes life into Abhijeet, expressed, “What drew me to this show was how authentically it portrays what happens when your dreams start coming true, but at a cost. Abhijeet is caught between his small-town roots and the fast, flashy world of the venture capital industry in Mumbai. He’s smart, idealistic, and just wants to make it big, but he soon realises that sweeping ambitions come with unexpected compromises. Portraying him felt like holding up a mirror to an entire generation grappling with pressure, desire, and self-worth.”

Sharing insights about her character and making her debut as Garima, RJ Mahvash shared, “Garima is fierce, unapologetic, and deeply emotional beneath her tough exterior. She’s someone who knows how to survive in a competitive world, but is still searching for something real, whether it's success or love. What I found fascinating about the show was how her vulnerability is never portrayed as weakness, but rather as strength. Pyar, Paisa, Profit really shows how the personal and professional lives collide in beautiful yet messy ways, and I’m certain that the audience will connect to this story.”

“We’ve always believed in stories that reflect the real, messy, emotional lives of young Indians. With Pyar, Paisa, Profit, we dive into the highly competitive world of VC firms through the lens of first jobbers. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with Durjoy Datta and Sumrit Shahi, as well as Amazon MX Player, to bring this emotionally resonant story that portrays the reality of today’s youth in a light-hearted way. We are confident that it will strike a chord with audiences across the length and breadth of the country,” shared Yash A Patnaik, Founder and Managing Director, Inspire Films Limited.
