Ludhiana, April 19, 2025: At two poll meetings held in the city this morning—one each at Gurdev Nagar and Sarabha Nagar—all speakers strongly appealed for support and votes for Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora. They emphasised his selfless dedication and deep-rooted commitment to public service, praising his consistent efforts to serve the community with sincerity and integrity.
At the Gurdev Nagar meeting, a gastroenterologist highlighted the critical need for an antibiotic policy in India. He informed Arora that many countries already have such policies in place, providing clear guidelines for the appropriate use of antibiotics. The absence of such a framework, he warned, is putting lives at risk. Responding to this concern, Arora assured that he would raise the issue with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare. He also agreed with the suggestion that antibiotics should only be dispensed on prescriptions issued by registered medical professionals.
Residents also raised some issue about CT scan services at the Civil Hospital. Arora promised to take up the matter with hospital authorities to ensure clarity and appropriate action.
Another major concern raised was the defacement of city walls with posters and other publicity materials. Arora expressed his displeasure over the issue, agreeing that such acts spoil the city’s aesthetics. He said he would urge the Municipal Commissioner of Ludhiana to implement strict measures to prevent such defacement.
On the issue of stray dogs, Arora said he had already directed the Municipal Commissioner to explore effective solutions to manage the problem.
During the meeting, Arora also presented a report card of his three-year tenure, receiving praise from attendees for his dedicated efforts. Deepak Dumra lauded Arora as a visionary leader working selflessly for Ludhiana’s growth, expressing confidence in his success in the upcoming Ludhiana (West) assembly elections.
Prominent citizens including doctors, businessmen, and social workers expressed strong support for Arora. Attendees at the Gurdev Nagar meeting included Dr. Kulwant Singh Boparai, Deepak Dumra, Dr. Harnish Bindra, Dr. Niraj Thapar, Gurlaveen Sidhu, TPS Sandhu, Avtar Dhindsa, Dr Charanpreet Singh Grewal, Dr Sulbha Jindal, Municipal Councillor Gurpreet Singh Babbal and Dr. Nakra.
Earlier, Arora held another meeting at Sarabha Nagar, attended by among others by Anil Dhawan, Municipal Councillor Amrit Varsha Rampal, Himanshi, Ritesh Arora, and Kavya Arora. Here too, Arora listened to public grievances and assured attendees that police patrolling in the area would be further intensified.
