Major General J.S. Cheema visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Jalandhar for the annual inspection. He closely reviewed the year-round NCC activities and issued guidelines to army officials for future actions. After that, Major General JS Cheema visited the ongoing CATC-40 camp at CT Institute. He was presented with a Guard of Honour at the venue.

ADG visits NCC Camp at CT Institute, Shahpur

Jalandhar, July 8, 2025: Major General J.S. Cheema visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Jalandhar for the annual inspection. He closely reviewed the year-round NCC activities and issued guidelines to army officials for future actions. After that, Major General JS Cheema visited the ongoing CATC-40 camp at CT Institute. He was presented with a Guard of Honour at the venue.
 
During the visit, he interacted with the ANOs, army trainers, and selected NCC cadets undergoing training at the camp. Camp Commandant Colonel Vinod Joshi provided him with detailed information about the ongoing training through a video presentation. Colonel Joshi explained that the SDRF team conducted a special lecture for cadets, educating them on how to assist the injured during disasters. The Fire Brigade also delivered a lecture on different types of fires and shown a demo on methods to control uncontrollable fires.
 
As part of the Caretaker Officer Orientation Program, CTOs are being prepared for the PRCN course. A special lecture was delivered by a gynecologist to address all health and hygiene-related queries of girl cadets.
 
When the cadets were shown a demonstration on section formation and simulating an attack on enemy posts while dressed as soldiers in a war-like setting, every cadet present was visibly thrilled and moved.
 
General Officer Cheema was further informed that an inter-company weapon handling competition has already taken place in the camp. To promote cultural awareness, a turban-tying competition was also held to connect cadets with Punjabi heritage. Currently, inter-company basketball, volleyball, and tug-of-war matches are in progress. On the ninth day of the camp, all cadets are energetically preparing for the drill competition, which is the highlight of the camp.
 
Following this, Major General Cheema engaged in a lively interaction with the cadets about their training experience. He honored the ANOs, trainers, and cadets who had performed excellently during this annual NCC session. The program concluded with the NCC song and loud chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
 
Later, General Officer Cheema visited the office of CT Institute’s Chairman Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, and MD Manveer Singh. Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh expressed gratitude to the army for selecting CT Institute as the NCC camp location and assured continued support for future NCC camps.
 
Afterward, military officials and the CT Institute management posed for a memorable group photo with the cadets.
 
Major General J.S. Cheema expressed satisfaction over the high-quality intensive training, food, and other activities being provided to the cadets at the camp.
