62 Engineer Regiment (Bengal Sappers) celebrates Golden Jubilee

Jalandhar, April 2, 2017: 62 Engineer Regiment (Bengal Sappers) celebrated Golden Jubilee on 01 April 2017. The momentous occasion was celebrated over a period of three days from 31 March 2017 to 02 April 2017. The function began with a wreath laying ceremony organized to pay homage to the brave soldiers of the Regiment. The function was attended by both serving and veteran officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks along with their families and Veer Naris of the Regiment. Senior Army officials graced this occasion.

Unit’s First Commanding Officer and Chief Engineer (Southern Command) addressed all ranks during the Special Sainik Sammelan and applauded the Regiment for its rich tradition and impeccable record over the fifty years. An Army Band Display by the Pipe and Brass Band of Bengal Engineer Group and a Paramotor show by Sky Aviation India from Delhi was a highlight of the program. A colourful traditional cultural program to include Bhangra and Gatka performances highlighting the traditions and culture of the State of Punjab was organized and was enjoyed by all ranks of the family. A Special Day Postal Cover on the occasion to mark the 50 Glorious Years of selfless service to the nation by the Regiment was released.
