59th Foundation day of Lajpat Rai Hall Boys Hostel No.5 celebrated joyfully today 

Chandigarh, January 29, 2024: The 59th Foundation day of Lajpat Rai Hall Boys Hostel No.5 was celebrated joyfully today on 28th January and with full enthusiasm on the occasion of 159th birth anniversary of "Punjab Kesari"Lala Lajpat Rai. 

The Chief guest of the occasion was Prof. Jatinder Grover, Dean Student's Welfare, Panjab University who was accompanied by Prof. Naresh Kumar, Associate DSW, Panjab University. The function started with the floral welcome of the chief guest of the evening and lamp lighting by Hostel Warden, Dr. J. S. Sehrawat, hostel staff and residents Thereafter, the residents of the hostel gave cultural and patriotic performances showcasing their devotion towards Lala Lajpat Rai and their motherland. 

Dr. J.S. Sehrawat throw light on the life and struggles of Lala Lajpat Rai during the independence war and deliberated his ideology, patriotism and sacrifices to the residents. He stressed that he will always be remembered as a true patriot who sacrificed his life for the freedom of his country. Further, Prof. Naresh Kumar, ADSW while addressing the students motivated the residents and staff to follow the ideology and teachings of Lala Lajpat Rai and be loyal to their country. 

Prof. Naresh lauded the inspirational and motivational celebrations being done by the hostel in the past too to commemorate the legendary personalities to illuminate the learning and thinking process of the residents. The vote of thanks was delivered by Hostel In-charge Arun Sharma, special thanks to Ankush Kalsia, a resident of BH-5.
