Chandigarh, January 31, 2023: University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a  three days workshop “Creative Crafts”. Around 50 students attended the workshop. Santosh, an artist and an expert from the field shared her knowledge with young minds. Each session began with a demonstration, followed by step-by-step guidance while participants worked on their creative projects. Pattachitra art from Orissa and Lippan art from Rajasthan, two important Indian art styles, were explored. The students then worked while being inspired by these handicrafts. They created several lifestyle products. After the completion of the workshop, students put up a display and those with the most imaginative and out-of-the-box presentations were recognised and rewarded. Three students were selected from the BSc 1st and 2nd year classes. From B.Sc. Fashion and lifestyle Technology-First year, Prachi achieved first place, followed by Neha in second place and Kanita in third place. Second-year BSc Fashion and lifestyle technology students Dimpy, Aniket, and Diksha placed first, second, and third, respectively. Dr. Anu H. Gupta complimented the creative products of the participants and said that such workshops and activities sharpen their creativity and skills learnt can help them establish themselves as young entrepreneurs. The workshop was coordinated by Gargi, UIFT & VD Guest Faculty.
