250 PG students undergoing training at the 4th UHS Course on Ethics

Rohtak, May 6, 2026: Director Dr. S.K. Singhal, formally inaugurated the ongoing 4th UHS Course on Ethics (Including Bioethics) on Tuesday at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of this six-day course—scheduled to run until May 9—Director Dr. S.K. Singhal said that ethical values and professional conduct constitute the very backbone of the medical profession. He emphasized that in the contemporary era, an understanding of subjects such as the doctor-patient relationship, informed consent, confidentiality, and research ethics is mandatory for every healthcare professional.
He further noted that, under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal, the university is continuously striving to instill ethical and humanistic values in its students. Dr. Singhal added that knowledge of ethics helps students navigate the challenges of their professional lives and fosters a profound sense of responsibility toward their patients.
Dr. Aarti, the course organizer, explained that the objective of this program is to cultivate a deep understanding of medical ethics, research ethics, medical professionalism, and ethical decision-making among postgraduate students and healthcare professionals. Over the six-day duration, various expert speakers are conducting case-based discussions and interactive sessions. Dr. Aarti informed that approximately 250 PG students are participating in the current batch. To date, through this course, nearly 950 students have been trained in the critical aspects of ethics and bioethics.
Serving as speakers, Dr. Savita Verma, Dr. Jitendra Jakhar, Dr. Ritu Hooda, Dr. Bina, and Dr. Kamal Singh addressed the various sessions held during the program.
