Yuktdhara Platform to Bring Transparency Along with Improved Quality of Works: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan

Nilokheri, April 16, 2026: Through the Yuktdhara platform, it will be possible to formulate precise plans for schemes, monitor them in real-time, and ensure the scientific utilization of resources. This will not only improve the quality of work but also enhance transparency and reduce the scope for corruption. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), said this while addressing participants during the inaugural session of a three-day program titled "GIS-based Monitoring of Gram Panchayats via Yuktdhara" under the VB-G RAM G initiative. He formally inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The Program Coordinator and HIRD faculty member, Dr. Kamaldeep Sangwan, outlined the program's framework, explaining that the objective of this training initiative is to infuse transparency and effectiveness into the operations of Gram Panchayats through the application of modern technology.

Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan remarked that GIS-based monitoring would ensure transparency, accuracy, and accountability within Gram Panchayats—marking the true direction of digital rural development. He asserted that a GIS-based monitoring system would usher in a new revolution in the development activities undertaken by Gram Panchayats. He added that the goal is to equip participants with proficiency in the practical application of GIS technology and the Yuktdhara platform, enabling them to effectively implement various schemes within their respective jurisdictions. He emphasized that sound planning, the balanced utilization of resources, and the continuous monitoring of work are the key drivers that accelerate development. Such training programs serve to enhance the operational efficiency of employees and foster awareness regarding innovative technologies, thereby ensuring holistic and sustainable development across rural areas.

The HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan expressed his gratitude to NIRDPR, Hyderabad, for selecting Haryana as the first state to launch this nationwide campaign. He noted that the VB-G RAM G scheme is set to advance with new provisions that will render the monitoring of development works at the village level even more effective. He further stated that the success of this scheme hinges entirely on the efforts of the employees; therefore, it is imperative for all participants to master the system and acquire comprehensive knowledge of it, so that they may successfully implement it at the grassroots level.

Emphasizing the importance of working in the Hindi language, Dr. Chauhan said that conducting one's work in one's own language—Hindi—is the true hallmark of good governance. Participants from various districts are taking part in this training program, where experts are providing them with detailed information regarding the use of GIS technology and the Yuktdhara portal.

Present on the occasion were Abdul Moeed (Consultant) and Gurbinder Singh (Senior Consultant) from the National Institute of Rural Development; Shelly Garg (Additional Block Officer) from Saraswati Nagar (Yamunanagar); Praveen Kumar (Accounts Assistant) from Radaur; Pradeep Kumar (Additional Block Officer) from Raipur Rani; along with Saurav Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Lakhwinder Kaur, and others.
