Rohtak, July 23, 2026: A delegation of journalists, led by Manmohan Kathuria—State President of the Haryana Union of Working Journalists (HUWJ)—submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Rohtak on Thursday. They demanded the immediate implementation of the cashless medical facility announced for the state's media personnel.

The HUWJ delegation met the Chief Minister, who was attending a literary award ceremony at the DLC SUPVA campus. During the meeting, they also raised demands to increase the monthly pension for accredited journalists and to lower the eligibility age for the pension scheme.

HUWJ State President Manmohan Kathuria noted that Chief Minister Saini had announced the provision of cashless medical facilities for media personnel last year, but the scheme has not yet been implemented. He emphasized that journalists work under constantly stressful and challenging conditions, making cashless healthcare facilities essential for them.

HUWJ State Treasurer Lokesh Jain stated that the Chief Minister assured the delegation that the announcement regarding the welfare of media personnel would be implemented soon. Additionally, the Chief Minister was invited to attend the HUWJ's state-level conference in Nuh district as the chief guest.
