Presented By Young COWE, under the mentorship of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India (COWE) Delhi Chapter, successfully hosted its 12th International Youth Day celebration at Shanker Lal Hall, Delhi University.
Although the Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta could not attend in person, she sent a late-night recorded message, acknowledging Delhi University’s youth as the pillars of Viksit Bharat 2047, marking 100 years of India’s freedom.
S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State, Central Government, inspired the gathering by urging Delhi’s youth to leverage their expertise in technology and Artificial Intelligence to explore opportunities in rural India.
Renu Sharma, President, COWE Delhi, introduced the programme themed “Catch Them Young – Empowered Youth for Empowered Villages: Building Viksit Bharat by 2037.” Guest of Honour Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, guided students on entrepreneurship and government schemes for startups, sparking keen interest among attendees. Another Guest of Honour, Professor Raj Kumar Bhatia, shared his insights from a long association with Delhi University and its role in producing some of India’s brightest leaders.
It was an honour to host the 12th International Youth Day at Delhi University under the Young COWE initiative. The programme reflected our belief that youth are the architects of Viksit Bharat. Inspiring dialogues, success stories, and guidance from our guests encouraged students to dream big and embrace entrepreneurship, said President Ms Renu Sharma.
The event also saw vibrant participation from Young COWE Secretary Chandana M, Young COWE member Adya Kathuria, COWE Secretary’s Arushi Kathuria, Shruti Dua and Treasurer Eti Bhatia. The most dynamic segment was the Success Stories of Young Entrepreneurs — a high-energy Q&A session where young entrepreneurs on the dais fielded rapid-fire questions from an eager audience ready to step into entrepreneurship.
"Every time we interact with young people, we walk away more inspired than we came. Today’s celebration was not just about International Youth Day, it was about trusting our youth and showing them that their dreams matter. If we can guide even a few of them towards entrepreneurship, we know we are building something meaningful." Said Arushi Kathuria Secretary COWE Delhi.
Inspiring contributions also came from Swati Pal, Principal of Janaki Devi Memorial College, along with Dr. Maneesha Aghnihotri, Prof. Natasha, and their students.
Young COWE Delhi announced plans to establish incubation centres to promote entrepreneurship and create hubs for innovation and women-led enterprises. The programme left a lasting impact on the youth, with many expressing interest in joining Young COWE — proving the crux of the day: trust your youth.
