World Kidney Day celebrated with Interactive Session at Aykai Hospital

Ludhiana, March 15, 2024: Aykai Hospital marked World Kidney Day with a dynamic and engaging event aimed at raising awareness about kidney health. Led by Dr. Baldev Singh Aulakh, Chief Urologist, Transplant Surgeon, and Chairman of Aykai Hospital, the event featured a series of informative sessions and activities to educate patients about the importance of kidney health.

The highlight of the event was a health talk delivered by a team of doctors, focusing on preventive measures and the latest advancements in kidney treatment. Patients actively participated in an interactive activity where they were instructed to make a fist and place it where the kidneys are located, followed by random clicks to reinforce the learning experience.

Dr. Aulakh emphasized the significance of keeping kidneys healthy through measures such as hydration, smoking cessation, physical activity, and dietary adjustments. He also introduced attendees to the advanced techniques available at Aykai Hospital, including thallium fibre laser and laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of kidney stones and tumors.

In addition to the informative sessions, a poster competition was organized, with in various departments of the hospital in which all staff actively participated. The competition was judged by Dr. Suhasini, Consultant Gynecology, and Dr. Ankur, Consultant Medicine, Aykai Hospital
 
Dr. Aulakh awarded the prizes to the winners, congratulated them and encouraged everyone present to continue spreading awareness about kidney health in their communities.
