Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at the grassroots level are enthusiastically gearing up for the Badlav Rally, which will be organized in Moga on 14th March 2026. The cadre believes the rally will significantly boost morale and instill high hopes and expectations ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Known as the Chanakya of the BJP, Amit Shah is recognized for his calculated political moves, carefully analyzing vote banks and the demographic realities of the state. This rally is seen as a major impetus for the cadre in preparation for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, where BJP leaders are reportedly aiming to contest all 117 assembly seats. If the party finalizes this ambitious plan, it could halt speculations about any future pre-poll alliances, with BJP leaders starting their own campaigns at the ward level.
However, party experts emphasize that unless all BJP leaders work collectively to strengthen the organizational structure in Punjab, the outcomes may be predictable. Before the 2022 Assembly elections, BJP had contested both Assembly and Parliamentary elections in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (B). Alliance candidates had strong visibility in rural, remote, and urban areas, which helped the coalition form governments in 1997, 2007, and 2012.
It remains unclear whether Punjab will witness a pre-poll alliance this time or a post-poll coalition. While speculation continues, political analysts note that in politics, predicting alliances is always uncertain. Friends can become foes, and foes can become friends, often influenced by the shifting dynamics of power. Political players carefully evaluate the current situation before altering their loyalties.
BJP cadre remains hopeful that the Badlav Rally could lead to a change in Punjab’s political equations. The party is expected to actively promote its social and economic reforms directly to voters in the coming months.
