Webinar on, “Union Budget-2022-23”

Chandigarh, March 17, 2022: University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized a webinar on, “Union Budget-2022-23”, on March 16 for the students of B.A.LLB (6th semester). 

Dr. Meenu Saihjpal was the convener of the webinar. Professor Rajinder Kaur introduced the speaker, Dr.Lakhwinder Singh, Emeritus Professor, School of Commerce and Management and Economics Department, Khalsa College, Patiala and Former Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Punjabi University, Patiala. He has numerous research publications in many national and international journals. Dr. Lakhwinder Singh first highlighted that this budget not only targets 2022-23 year but would also influence the coming 25 years. Initially, he explained the three pillars of the budget i.e.  Macro-economic Level Growth Focus with a Micro-economic Level all inclusive welfare, promoting digital economy and increased capital expenditure to crowd in private investment. He also discussed the revival of the economy by Crowding-in investment and, the different allocations for the different heads. 

The session was followed by an interaction with the students where the queries of the students were very well addressed. It was a very informative and enlightening talk. In the end, Dr. Meenu Saihjpal proposed a vote of thanks.
