Webinar on topic of vocal techniques in classical music

Jalandhar: The Post Graduate Department of Music, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized a one day National level Webinar on the topic of 'Vocal techniques in Classical Music'. Professor BS Narang from the Patiala Dynasty of Classical Music was the Chief orator and guest artist for this occasion. While beginning the proceedings, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra appreciated the virtue of the musical event and hoped that the students of the department would learn minute details of the art of classical music from a learned artist in the form of Prof. B.S. Narang. Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs formally welcomed the chief orator whilst Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Head of the Department of Music informed the audience about the long list of achievements associated with Prof. B.S. Narang along with highlighting the details of the program. In his speech cum presentation on classical music, Prof. B.S. Narang presented his views on the various vocal techniques as seen and practiced in the classical genre of music. He also laid special emphasis on regular practice and proper tuning of the voice along with presenting some of the classical tones much to the knowledge of students of music in attendance. Prof. Narang also answered curious musical queries put forth by the students of music. Vote of thanks to conclude the program was presented by Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar whereas the stage was managed by Prof. Sukhdev Singh.
This webinar on musical techniques was witnessed by the presence of college staff, students and over 50 participants from various parts of the region
