Ludhiana, August 11, 2025: A meeting of the Social Media Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party was held at District Ludhiana Rural-2 under the directions of Manish Sisodia. The meeting was led by Malwa Central Zone In-charge Deepak Batish and Secretary Inderjit Singh, with Punjab Cabinet Minister Taranpreet Singh Sond as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sond affirmed that the Punjab government is fully committed to delivering on the promises made to the people of the state. “The citizens themselves are appreciating the work being done. Earlier, most of Punjab’s canal water was used by other states, but due to our efforts, it is now being utilized within Punjab, even reaching the tail ends of villages,” he said.
Highlighting development projects, he announced that 19,000 km of rural roads will be built and maintained for five years by contractors. “Today, 90% of households in Punjab receive zero electricity bills as the government has waived 600 units of power. To ensure healthcare for all, 881 Mohalla Clinics have been opened, providing accessible treatment. A dedicated Road Safety Force has been formed to reduce road fatalities, 17 toll plazas have been shut to save public money, and the pension scheme for ex-MLAs has been restricted to a single pension. Over 54,000 government jobs have been provided, a new thermal plant has been purchased, and a strong campaign against bribery has been launched. Drug smugglers are being caught and jailed. Much more work is in the pipeline,” Sond added.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Batish said the meeting’s primary aim was to use social media to inform every household about the facilities and services being provided by the Punjab government. “We want to ensure that people are aware of the government’s achievements,” he said. He further informed that social media teams have been formed through meetings held at MLA offices in Samrala, Payal, Sahnewal, and Khanna.
