Volunteers of PAU participate in stress management camp
To generate awareness about stress management and wellbeing, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a “Stress Management Camp and Workshop” as a part of the University’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Ludhiana, May 10, 2023: To generate awareness about stress management and wellbeing, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a “Stress Management Camp and Workshop” as a part of the University’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, was the chief guest of the event in which around 350 NSS volunteers participated.
Nitika Sudha, associated with Sahaj Yoga and Dr Simran Kang Sidhu,a certified children and adult’s counselor and motivational speaker, were the guest speakers during the event.
While conducting a practical mediation session, Mrs Sudha explained different steps for mediation and how these steps helped in clearing all the negative thoughts and uplifting the spirits high with all the positivity around our body in 5-7 minutes.
Dr Simran Kang Sidhu discussed different types of stresses like social, physical and mental stress; and how these could be managed and converted into positive energy. She observed that everyone was having some kind of stress in their day to day life in today’s competitive world. Talking about different complexes, she asked the students either to accept or improve those to get relief from stress. She gave simple tips to volunteer for reducing this stress by avoid multitasking, procrastination and mind fullness.
Dr Jaura said that addressing the mental health issues of youngsters was need of the hour in order to enable them to become productive and efficient in their daily routine work. He appreciated the lectures delivered by the guest speakers and participation of the NSS volunteers in the workshop.
Dr Harmeet Singh Saralch, NSS Programme Coordinator, advised the volunteers to practice mediation in their day to day life to stay healthy and stress free.
Dr Divya Utreja, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed and introduced the speakers, and conducted the sessions of the workshop. The expert lectures were followed by an animated discussion by the audience.
Among others present were NSS Programme Officers, Dr Manjot Kaur, Dr Sanjay Satpute, Dr Koushik Mandal and Dr Harpreet Singh.
