Visit of Area Councilor Sachin Galav to UIAMS, Panjab University
Chandigarh, September 29, 2025: Area Councilor Sachin Galav visited UIAMS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, where he met with the Director, Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, and Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Training cum Placement Officer. During this productive meeting, the UIAMS team apprised him of their plans to establish an open-air gym and an outdoor canteen seating facility on campus. These initiatives aim to promote health, wellness, and community engagement among students and staff.
Sachin Galav, a proud alumnus of Panjab University, assured the UIAMS team of his full support. He committed to allocating funds of Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund of Sh. Manish Tewari, former Union Minister and noted Advocate, served as the chief guest at the DISA UIAMS Orientation Program held on 27th September 2025. He remarked, “As an alumnus, I am personally invested in the growth and welfare of Panjab University. I am pleased to support UIAMS in creating facilities that encourage wellness and community spirit, and I will do my best to secure the necessary funding to realise these projects.”
Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi expressed her gratitude for the councilor’s visit and support, stating, “We are deeply thankful to Councilor Sachin Galav for taking a keen interest in enhancing the infrastructure at UIAMS. The proposed open-air gym and outdoor seating will not only improve the quality of campus life but also encourage a healthy and vibrant environment for our students.”
Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Training cum Placement Officer, added, “Such facilities are essential to foster holistic development and provide students with spaces to relax, socialize, and maintain physical fitness. We look forward to collaborating closely with Councilor Galav to secure the necessary funding and bring this vision to life.”
Following the meeting, student placement representatives took Councilor Galav on a detailed tour of the UIAMS campus. They showcased the proposed site for the canteen shed and presented the comprehensive site plan along with the budget proposal. This hands-on walkthrough allowed the councilor to better understand the scope and potential impact of the project on campus life.
This collaboration and ongoing support from distinguished personalities highlight a shared commitment to improving campus infrastructure and fostering a supportive environment for the university community.
