Awareness Session on the POCSO Act Organised at Ivy World School to Educate Students and Teachers

Jalandhar, November 3, 2026: Under the aegis of Vasal Education, a special awareness session on the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act was organised at Ivy World School, Jalandhar, with the objective of promoting awareness about the safety, protection and rights of students. A special team visited the school and provided detailed insights into the various provisions of the POCSO Act, its significance and essential guidelines related to child safety. The primary aim of the session was to educate students and members of the school community about child protection laws, preventive measures and their respective responsibilities.

During the session, the team explained the difference between good touch and bad touch, encouraging students to become aware of their personal boundaries, bodily autonomy and right to safety. Students were also guided to report any uncomfortable or inappropriate behaviour to their parents, teachers or any trusted adult without fear or hesitation. The team further highlighted the procedure for filing complaints under the POCSO Act, mandatory reporting requirements and the legal provisions designed to safeguard children.

On this occasion, Sanjeev Kumar Vasal, Chairman, Vasal Education, emphasised that providing every child with a safe, respectful and fear-free environment is a collective responsibility. He stated that child safety is not merely a legal obligation but also a moral and social responsibility. He further highlighted that awareness and appropriate guidance play a vital role in empowering children to understand their rights and develop confidence.
