Ludhiana: Vikas Anand has been declared elected president to Rishi Enclave Welfare Society (REWS), Pink Flats, Rishi Nagar, Hambran Road, Ludhiana.

The election was held on February 21, 2021 in a free and fair manner under the guidance of the representatives from the office of ADC (Development), Ludhiana.

The polling was held through a secret ballot in Park No.3 from 10am to 1 pm. In a direct and neck and neck contest, while Vikas Anand polled 74 votes and Gaganpreet Kaur polled 51 votes. Vikas Anand was declared elected by a margin of 23 votes. 

The electorates enthusiastically participated in the elections. There were a total 180 voters. Of them, a total 125 votes were polled. Two votes of the total polled votes were declared invalid.        

This was for the first time in the history of the society in the last ten years that election for the post of the REWS president has been held though a secret ballot. As such, Vikas Anand becomes the first elected president to REWS for two years with effect from April 1, 2021. Previously, he was general secretary of the society. 

 

Ludhiana Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, all residents of the society and  near and dear ones have congratulated Vikas Anand on being elected to the society president.

The remaining office-bearers of the society have already been declared unopposed.
