Vet Varsity organizes workshop on Blended Learning Program

Ludhiana, August 29, 2023: Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized a workshop on National Agricultural Research and Education System, Blended Learning Platform (NARES-BLP) at the College of Animal Biotechnology. NARES-BLP for higher education in agriculture is a blended learning ecosystem that provides centralization of all the amenities that learners and administrators require for knowledge retention and enhanced engagement. The NARES-BLP system has been developed by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research to develop and deploy a “Next – Generation Learning Management System” allowing all stakeholders in Agricultural higher education to engage in effective teaching, learning and monitoring.

Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean and the university Nodal officer BLP program informed that the workshop would instill awareness on various virtual platforms that could be exploited by the teachers and administrators to improve and simplify the learning process. He further added that an overwhelming response has been recorded from all the budding teachers from different constituent and affiliated colleges of the University. Dr. Sudeep Marwaha, Head and PI, NAHEP-2, the lead expert of the workshop in his introductory remarks emphasized that technology makes the entire learning process easy and interesting. The other experts from ICAR were Sanjot Mittal, Vibhor Tyagi, and Ms. Rajni, also imparted training on this Blended Learning Platform to the faculty and students of the university. The workshop was conducted for the faculty members and students in two sessions. A total of 25 faculty members and 32 students from five constituent colleges including Veterinary College Rampura Phul, Bhatinda and affiliated college Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Amritsar participated in the workshop, comprising 32 male and 25 female participants.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University, congratulated the organizing team for successfully conducting the workshop on “Next – Generation Learning Management System” that holds a great promise in times to come.
The workshop concluded with the overwhelming feedback from the participants, and the concluding remarks from Dr. B.V. Sunil Kumar and Dr BBS Dhaliwal, Co-coordinators for the event.
