Vet Varsity inaugurates Cutting-Edge Interventional Ultrasound Unit

Ludhiana, February 2, 2024: In a landmark development, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana inaugurated a state-of-the-art Interventional Ultrasound Unit, setting a new standard for diagnostic precision and treatment efficacy in veterinary medicine.

The cutting-edge unit was officially unveiled by Dr. Inderjeet Singh inaugurated in the presence of Dr. S. P. S. Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science along with other faculty members and UG/ PG scholars. The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that this unit will further boost the diagnostic abilities of our hospital. He said that the inauguration of this Interventional Ultrasound Unit marks a significant milestone in the evolution of veterinary medicine, underscoring the importance of technological advancements in improving patient outcomes.

Dr. Ghuman, informed that the state-of-the-art unit offers a myriad of benefits, including advanced imaging capabilities for early detection of diseases.

Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Director of Clinics emphasized the hospital's commitment to staying at the forefront of veterinary healthcare. "The investment in this state-of-the-art Interventional Ultrasound Unit reaffirms our dedication to providing the highest standard of care to our animal patients. We are proud to lead the way in incorporating cutting-edge technology that enhances our diagnostic and treatment capabilities." Further, this unit is also equipped with an additional 55” LED screen to aid teaching a larger group of students which is normally not possible with small ultrasound screen only.

Dr. Randhir Singh and Dr. Rajsukhbir Singh, the visionaries behind the project expressed excitement about the possibilities this unit brings to veterinary care. The interventional ultrasound unit combines ultrasound imaging with minimally invasive procedures, enabling veterinarians to visualize internal structures with exceptional clarity and perform interventions such as biopsies, fluid aspiration, and catheter placements with precision. This not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also minimizes the invasiveness of certain procedures, leading to faster recovery times for the animals.
