Faculty and students of Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Livestock Farms, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana attended 38th Annual Convention of The Indian Society for Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR) and International Symposium on “Frontiers in Theriogenology: Research and Practice”.

Vet Varsity Faculty and Students Excelled in National Conference on Animal Reproduction

Ludhiana, December 12, 2023: Faculty and students of Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Livestock Farms, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana attended 38th Annual Convention of The Indian Society for Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR) and International Symposium on “Frontiers in Theriogenology: Research and Practice”. It was held at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University, Mannuthy, Kerala. Drs. Ajeet Kumar, Narinder Singh, Amarjeet Bisla, Nakul Gulia along with 10 M.V.Sc. students attended and presented their research papers. A total of 4 awards won by faculty and students.

Dr. Ajeet Kumar, Professor of this department was awarded “Best Presentation Award” on “Lameness in Relation to Libido, Semen Quality and Freezability in Crossbred Bulls” in Andrology, Semenology and AI session. This paper was co-authored by Karanbir Singh, D Pathak, A K Singh and M Honparkhe.

Dr Gurbeer Singh Sandhu, M.V.Sc student was awarded “Young Scientist Award” for oral clinical case presentation entitled “Dicephalus derdymus tetrabrachius tetrapus thoracosternopagus discaudatus monster in buffaloes : a case series”. This paper was co-authored by Nakul Gulia and Amarjeet Bisla.

Dr Satnam Singh Brar won “Best Poster Presentation Award” entitled “Successful management of dystocia due to fetal arthrogryposis and polydactyly through partial fetotomy in Sahiwal cow” This paper was co-authored by Navdeep Singh, Bilawal Singh, Mrigank Honparkhe.

Pardeep Singh Sekhon won “3rd Best Poster Presentation Award” entitled “Dystocia due to foetal ascites in two crossbred cattle” in a clinical presentation session. This paper was co-authored by Nakul Gulia and Amarjeet Bisla.

In the General Body meeting of the symposium, the efforts made by Dr Ajeet Kumar, Chief Editor along with the editorial team of The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction (IJAR) was widely applauded. It was also decided that the 39th Annual Convention cum Conference of ISSAR will be organized at Vet Varsity, Ludhiana.
