United Sikhs Organizes Grand Turban Tying Camp in Solemn Memory of the Chote Sahibzade

To commemorate the incomparable martyrdom of the younger sons of the Tenth Master, the Giver of His Entire Lineage, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj—Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, and Mata Gujri Kaur Ji—with deep devotion and respect, and with the mission to inspire the current generation of Sikh youth and children to take guidance from the martyrdom of the Sahibzade, become steadfast in their faith, and adorn beautiful turbans on their heads, a two-day Turban Tying Camp was organized by United Sikhs. This camp was held at the land of martyrs, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, outside the Dera of Sant Baba Santokh Singh located near Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Sarup Sahib, with the warm cooperation of Sant Baba Baljinder Singh, dedicated to the Shaheedi Jor Mela. Within this camp, hundreds of youth and children who had drifted from their roots filled out pledge forms provided by United Sikhs; they not only announced their return to the Sikh mainstream but also took a solemn vow to keep their hair (Kesh) and adorn turbans on their heads amidst the resounding echoes of Jaikaras.
While sharing information regarding this, United Sikhs Director (Punjab) Amritpal Singh and Turban Tying Camp Coordinator Bhupinder Singh Makkar jointly stated that the sacrifices of the martyrs are our invaluable treasure. Specifically, the unparalleled martyrdom of the four Sahibzade of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, Mata Gujri Kaur Ji, and all the martyred Singhs and Singhnis is a source of inspiration for us. Therefore, the current generation of youth should take inspiration from the martyrdom of the Sahibzade and become firm in their religion. The main objective of United Sikhs in organizing this Turban Tying Camp and altruistically distributing turbans to youth and children is to connect the younger generation with the great sacrifices of Sikh history and to inspire them to live life according to Gurmat principles by demonstrating the importance of the turban. To achieve this very mission, the two-day Turban Tying Camp was organized at the Shaheedi Jor Mela outside the Dera of Sant Baba Santokh Singh with the warm cooperation of Sant Baba Baljinder Singh.
Amritpal Singh stated that in the present times, with the aim of putting a check on the increasing trend of apostasy among Sikh youth and children and to restore the glory of the turban—the crown of Sikhism—by connecting them with their heritage, Sikh youth and children participated in the said Turban Tying Camp in large numbers and adorned turbans on their heads with great enthusiasm. He said that the turban is an inseparable part of a Sikh, and because of it, a Sikh standing among millions can be recognized from afar. Addressing the youth and children who arrived to tie beautiful turbans, he said that the turban bestowed by Guru Maharaj is not just an honor but is the crown of every Sikh's head, through which the glimpses of leadership, self-respect, and Sikh splendor are clearly visible. Therefore, the current generation of youth and children should free themselves from the trend of the 'Patka' and 'Cap culture' and should adorn beautiful turbans. He stated that due to the cooperation being provided by Sant Baba Baljinder Singh to intensify this awareness campaign for tying turbans, the Turban Tying mission will become a lighthouse for youth and children in the coming times.
During this, United Sikhs Camp Coordinator Bhupinder Singh and prominent volunteer Charanjit Singh, while providing information, said that Sikh youth, children, and girls participated in the Turban Tying Camp with great fervor and adorned turbans and Dumallas on their heads in the presence of the Sangat. Thus, the Turban Tying Camp organized by United Sikhs dedicated to the unparalleled martyrdom of the Chote Sahibzade emerged as an exemplary and inspirational endeavor.
