Union Minister Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar launches Postcard Campaign in VIT-AP University to Convey Birthday Wishes to Prime Minister

Amaravati, September 1, 2026: VIT-AP University, Amaravati Campus, in association with the VIT-AP – Zen G Post Office Branch, organized a Special Postcard Campaign on Tuesday to convey birthday greetings to the Prime Minister of India on the occasion of his 76th birthday, which falls on September 17.
The programme was held at the Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Auditorium (AB-2) on the VIT-AP University campus. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and the university community, who expressed their birthday wishes and greetings to the Hon’ble Prime Minister through specially arranged postcards.
The programme was graced by Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar Garu, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Tenali Sravan Kumar Garu, MLA, Tadikonda, PVN Madhav Garu, President, Andhra Pradesh BJP, and P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice Chancellor, Dr.Jagadish Chandra-Registrar VIT-AP University, Higher officials of Postal Department were also present on the occasion, along with other dignitaries and organizers.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar emphasized the importance of connecting young citizens with national initiatives. He said, “The enthusiasm of our students reflects their strong sense of participation in the nation’s journey and their aspirations for a developed India He highlighted the significance of the occasion and the transformative initiatives undertaken under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He said, “Over the past decade, the country has witnessed remarkable progress across infrastructure, digital connectivity, financial inclusion, welfare delivery and the empowerment of youth and women. Initiatives such as Digital India, the expansion of public infrastructure, stronger last-mile delivery of welfare schemes and the growing global stature of India have contributed significantly to the nation’s development. The participation of young students in this campaign reflects their enthusiasm to be part of India’s continuing journey towards a developed nation.”
Tenali Sravan Kumar Garu, MLA, Tadikonda, appreciated the initiative and the active involvement of students. He remarked, “Such programmes give our young generation an opportunity to express their respect for national leadership while strengthening their sense of civic responsibility.”
PVN Madhav Garu, President, Andhra Pradesh BJP, highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and significance of post card campaign involving youth in initiatives of national importance. He said, “The participation of students in this campaign demonstrates the spirit of patriotism, civic engagement and their connection with the larger national mission.”
Speaking on the occasion,  P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice Chancellor, VIT-AP University, said, “At VIT-AP, we encourage our students to participate in initiatives that nurture responsible citizenship and a meaningful connection with the nation.” He added that the postcard campaign provided students with a unique opportunity to personally convey their greetings to the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
The event reflected the active participation and enthusiasm of the VIT-AP student community. Students took part in the campaign by writing and submitting their birthday greetings through postcards, making the programme a meaningful and memorable occasion.
The Special Postcard Campaign was conducted as part of the initiative to mark the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday and to encourage students to participate in activities that foster a sense of civic engagement, national connection and responsible citizenship.
The programme concluded with appreciation for the students, faculty members, organizers and the VIT-AP – Zen G Post Office Branch for their support in successfully conducting the campaign.
Senior officials from Postal Department, Dr.Jagadish Chandra – Registrar,Dr.Khadeer Pasha- Deputy Director –Student welfare VIT-AP University were also present on the occasion.
