Chandigarh, December 7, 2023: FAI is organizing 59th Annual Seminar during 6-8 December 2023 devoted to the theme of “Innovations in Fertilizer and Agriculture Sectors” at Hotel Pullman, New Delhi. 

The Seminar was inaugurated by Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandavia ji. During the Inaugural function, Chief Guests distributed various awards to recognize excellence in production, environment performance, safety, marketing and promotion of micronutrients, bio-fertilizers, etc. and contribution of scientists in Research and Development for improving agricultural productivity.

N. Suresh Krishnan, Chairman, FAI commended the efforts of the Government to towards making India self-reliant in fertilizer production. 

Addressing the annual seminar, Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "Global companies are encouraged to foster fair practices by refraining from engaging in price cartelisation.  India, having innovated alternative fertilisers like nano liquid urea and nano liquid Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP), is determined to achieve self-sufficiency." He cautioned global suppliers against presuming that India is bound to purchase fertilisers at inflated rates.  Elaborating on this, he stated, "If this practice persists, India will actively promote alternative fertilisers, aligning with our commitment to sustainable solutions that benefit all."
Expanding on India's capabilities, Mandaviya expressed confidence, saying, "India possesses both the brain power and manpower for transformative initiatives. We believe in the philosophy of Vasudhav Kutumbakam, and all we want is long-term friendship and cooperation."

An exhibition was also inaugurated by the Union Minster.  

A total of 57 exhibitors from India and abroad showcased their products and services provided to fertilizer and agriculture sectors.
