Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Madam Ramanjit Kaur, President of the Foundation signed the MoU. In a joint statement, the two organizations said that the two organizations would work together to create employment opportunities for girls / women through the Green Sparrow project launched by the foundation. Principal Dr. Samra said that he personally and his educational institution has always strived for the empowerment of youth and girls. During the Corona epidemic, millions of people suffered. If the Foundation works with our organization to create jobs for such people, it is a very positive and big thing. He said that S. Ajit Singh Foundation Society (Reg.) Jalandhar is doing very qualitative and quantitative work in this field.

Ms. Ramanpeet Kaur, President of the Foundation said that about ten girls involved in the Green Sparrow Project have taken beneficial initiatives in many ways by reusing old clothes. While the disposal of household waste is very difficult, it also increases the amount of waste generated in the city. The trend of single use plastic has increased due to the discontinuation of the use of bags used in the past which is harmful to the environment and all kinds of life. To solve all these problems, a project called 'Green Sparrow' has been started under which old clothes are collected from different places. The girls associated with the S. Ajit Singh Foundation make bags, masks, purses, mattresses and other accessories from these clothes. The members involved in this project raise funds for themselves by selling these items made from old clothes at a very reasonable price. These girls also encourage people to use cloth bags and especially old cloth bags and other items to reduce the use of single use plastic and also to protect the environment.

Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Convener Grievance and Redressal Cell shared the information that special activities would be conducted throughout the year for the empowerment and employment of girls and women under this project in which their college and social service would work in collaboration.
