UHSR celebrates International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR). The event was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. H.K. Aggarwal. Under his leadership, hundreds of participants practiced yoga.
Rohtak, June 21, 2026: International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR). The event was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. H.K. Aggarwal. Under his leadership, hundreds of participants practiced yoga.
Chief Guest, Dr. H.K. Aggarwal stated that yoga is an ancient heritage of India, and today, the entire world has embraced it. Speaking on this year's theme—"Yoga for Healthy Aging"—he noted that regular yoga practice can help prevent age-related ailments such as high blood pressure, diabetes, joint pain, and mental stress. He urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.
Guest of Honour and PGIMS Director Dr. S.K. Singhal remarked that yoga enhances concentration and work efficiency. He appealed to all members of the PGIMS family to practice yoga for at least 30 minutes every day.
DSW Dr. Savita Singhal mentioned that, in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol, participants practiced various asanas -including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, and Shavasana—along with Pranayama and meditation.
The event was attended by program organizer Dr. Madhu Sharma, Public Relations Department In-charge Dr. Varun Arora, as well as HoDs, senior faculty members, resident doctors, MBBS and nursing students, paramedical staff, and ministerial employees.
