UBS, PU Hosts Induction Programme for MBA Batch 2026-28

Chandigarh, July 10, 2026: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh welcomed its incoming batch (2026-28) of first-year students today with an Induction Programme held at the Law Auditorium.
The event aimed to bridge the gap between academic foundations and industry expectations by bringing together distinguished academic leaders and accomplished corporate veterans.
Addressing the programme, Dean of University Instruction Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, highlighted that true leadership is marked by inspiring others to take the correct actions. She urged students to engage in research projects and reminded them that their peers will serve as their greatest teachers, future business partners, and policymakers, grounded in the values of wisdom, compassion, and excellence.
Drawing on nearly two decades of global consulting experience, Managing Director, Banking & Capital Markets, Deloitte Consulting India Mr. Dinesh Kalluri, emphasised the importance of long-term planning, empathy, and maintaining an open mind. He reminded students that while technology rapidly evolves, AI does not change the core fundamentals of management. He urged the cohort to build strong character and view their careers as a continuous process of self-discovery.
Referring to his 28 years of banking leadership experience, UBS alumnus and Executive Vice President, HDFC Bank Mr. Lalit Batra offered four key lessons from his time at his alma mater: prioritise excellence over mere diligence, recognise human relationships as your greatest assets, invest in people for lifelong returns, and remember that character is formed when no one is watching. Referencing a philosophy shared by Roger Federer, he advised students to focus on the present moment, embrace leadership roles, and view every setback as a vital learning opportunity.
Director, Sipcon Technologies Pvt. Ltd Mr. Pawan V. Wadhawan addressd the power of innovation and global scaling. He urged students to become "upgraded versions" of themselves by building skills that AI cannot replace. He introduced the "ARC" (Affinity, Reality, Communication) and "KRC" (Knowledge, Responsibility, Control) triangles of understanding, advising the cohort to stop blaming circumstances, seek moments of transformation, and prioritize a growth mindset over academic marks.
Earlier, Chairperson UBS Prof. Meena Sharma, welcomed the students and highlighted UBS' vision for strengthening industry-academia collaboration. She encouraged the new batch to step beyond the classroom by actively participating in conferences, group activities, and collaborative discussions.
