Tri-city’s first Alcis Family Run marathon held

The aim of the marathon was to create awareness about ‘Fitness as a Family Goal’ and ‘Save The Environment’ 
 
Panchkula: Alcis Sports, a cutting-edge Indian performance wear brand, organized Tri-City’s first full-fledged family run, Alcis Family Run, here today. The aim of the marathon was to create awareness about ‘Fitness as a Family Goal’ and ‘Save the Environment.’ Around 1000 participants along with specially-abled children, more than 100 families and defense personals took part in the marathon. The run started from the Community Center, Sector 23, Punchkula.
 
Spearheaded by Coach Ravinder, who is the catalyst behind creating the most revolutionary running environments in India, the run had been designed specifically for families and had 3 types of running and Walkathon. The main aim behind the run was to get families to come out and explore the joy of running together. Keeping a runner’s ‘never say die’ spirit, a solo 10K category had also been included for those who want to run hard and strong. Chief guest for the Alcis Family Run was Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker, Haryana Legislative Assembly. 
 
Roshan Baid, Managing Director, Alcis Sports, said, “We have seen most of the families have only one or sometimes two family members at the maximum who are conscious about fitness. Through this Family Run we want to create a culture where the whole family comes out together, practices together and run together, and create a common fitness goal for themselves.” 
 
Ravish Nanda, Director, Alcis Sports, said, ‘We are using T-Shirts in the Alcis Family Run which are made out of recycled plastic bottles. Along with fitness, we also want to spread awareness about saving the environment”.
