Traditionally modern art exhibition

Chandigarh: The department of Art History and Visual Arts  and Director Museum of Fine Arts, Panjab University Chandigarh in association with Manasollasa Arts presented  Traditionally Modern Paintings from Lockdown 2020 by Seems Jaitley .

Professor  Dr. Tirthankar Bhattacharya ,Art Historian and Indologist and Chairperson informed that she  has always been a silent worker.  Away from the limelight ,  perusing her artistic interests in peace.  Her works personify her personality.. somber, quiet and at times subtle reflections of her personal life.  Being a mother, a teacher and a homemaker all adds on to making her art extremely identifiable.  At times Seema paints with a child like simplicity which in fact to my mind makes her work stand out.  Her colour palette has the freedom of the rainbow. Infact, I am pleasantly surprised that she has not been pushed into adopting a specific style till date. Seema's art breaks the monotony. Many of her art works would perhaps not fit into a so called genre of art, as she continues to be free and creative, unconventional yet following the deep rooted art traditions seema is a blend of, as I put it , 'Traditionally Modern' ,he added.
