Tiranga Cuisine launched by PCTE-IHM at the 9th Hospitality & Tourism Conclave

The Faculty of Hotel Management and Catering Technology along with the Faculty of Travel and Tourism organised the 9th Hospitality & Tourism Conclave on the topic “Folk Tourism, Hospitality and Cuisine of India”.

Ludhiana, April 5, 2023: The Faculty of Hotel Management and Catering Technology along with the Faculty of Travel and Tourism organised the 9th Hospitality & Tourism Conclave on the topic “Folk Tourism, Hospitality and Cuisine of India”.

Chef Sudhir Sibal, Celebrity Chef (Vice President - Hotels, Ex ITDC), Dr. Sudhir Andrews, Prof, Author, Thought Leader (Corporate HR Head- Ex Oberoi, Ex ITC), Chef Khairiya, Founder and Director of Culinary Mantra and Sangeeta Bahuguna, Food Critic and Writer were the keynote speakers in the event.


The occasion witnessed the introduction of Tiranga Cuisine, a cuisine influenced by the time period of  Indus Valley Civilisation, Vedic period, Mauryan Period, Delhi Sultanate period, Mughal and British Raj era.

The delicacies were made by the hotel management students where they exhibited different culinary techniques. More than 200 dishes of different states of India were showcased by the students including food of dishes like Radha Ballavi, Parinde Mein Parinda, Kolkata Dum Biryani, Gulab Jamun Ki Sabji, Sedha Bhaat etc.


Anirban Gupta, Dean IHM, PCTE said that events like these help the students to gain hands-on experience. He added by saying that PCTE-IHM has always focused on bringing the best out of the students be it academically or in practical learning.


Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire team of hotel management and tourism department on successfully organizing 8th IHTCC. He further added by saying that the exposure that the students get during these events help them in future prospects.
