Three day Student’s Fest kick starts in Dr. SSBUICET

Chandigarh April 28, 2022: Prof Raj Kumar inaugurated Cyanide 2022, the cultural fest of Chemical Engg ( Dr SSB UICET) Panjab University. This is the first such fest being organized post pandemic. The event started with Cyanothon- a marathon giving a tribute to flying Sikh, Milka Singh followed by Sukhmani sahib path. Three days will witness a series of events  like oratory games, Nukadnakkad, Enactus, Mr and Mrs Cyanide, dance shows and many more. 

On this occasion Prof. Raj Kumar lauded the efforts of the Prof Amrit Toor, Chairperson, Dr. SSBUICET in revamping the institute infrastructure and liaisoning with alumni and  further wished that startups and entrepreneurship culture be developed in the institute. He emphasized on holistic development of engineering students and said that fests like Cyanide motivate the students and develop their organization and interpersonal skills. 

He also inaugurated the renovated seminar halls/classrooms and stressed on establishing incubation centre inside Chemical Engineering to promote more startups. Prof Kumar while launching the "Startup Cafeteria" by two alumni members, Sourav Kansal and Vibhushit Singh appreciated the efforts of a food startup where students and alumni of the Institution joined hands to launch natural dried fruits, berry juices and gluten free bakery products under the name of FreakoFresh.

Prof. Raj Kumar also encouraged Dr SSBUICET to take a lead amongst CRIKC Institutions wherein the nationally established S& T clusters are being promoted. Prof Kumar invoked the students of Dr SSBUICET to reach greater heights by becoming job provider rather than job seeker. He also announced that an alumni from USA Arun and Arvind Verma are donating Rs3.5 cr to Dr SSBUICET for renovation of building, infrastructure, laboratories & Pilot Plant.

Finally he expressed his happiness and congratulated that the Institution has got NBA accreditation for BE Chemical Engg. Course.
