Three Arrested with 1.340 kg of Hashish in Nurpur Police Crackdown
In a major success under the Nurpur Police’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, the CIA Nurpur team arrested three persons and recovered 1.340 kilograms of hashish during a naka checking operation on Monday.
Dharamshala, May 11, 2026: In a major success under the Nurpur Police’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, the CIA Nurpur team arrested three persons and recovered 1.340 kilograms of hashish during a naka checking operation on Monday.
According to the Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, the police team was conducting routine patrolling and checking of suspicious vehicles near Defence Road, Kopra, when two vehicles were stopped for inspection. During the search operation, police recovered 1.340 kilograms of hashish from the accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Saif Ali (30), resident of Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh; Abdullah (33), resident of Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh; and Farooq (20), resident of Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.
Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. All three accused have been taken into custody, while both vehicles used in the alleged crime have also been seized.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to trace the wider network linked to the drug trade.
