This International Day of Families

Sony SAB artists cherish their immediate and extended families

This International Day of Families

Debina Bonnerjee (Mallika from Sony SAB's Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga)
“It’s the contribution by our families is what helps us grow in life”
The credit for the success during my entire journey in the entertainment industry goes to my parents. I feel everything an individual does, is the combination of their own efforts and the support from their families. Since childhood, my parents have kept me highly engaged in all extra-curricular activities which I feel I would have never done without their motivation. Right from the beginning my family has contributed and worked hard in making me who I am today. Both my mom and dad have adjusted and compromised a lot, to give my brother and me a successful future. My family has protected me all along.
I feel even our co-stars and the entire production team on the set turns into our family since we spend so much time with them. While shooting for Chidiya Ghar, the cast and the production team turned into my own extended family. Having said that, being a Sony SAB family member, I started the second innings of my career with Sony SAB. The channel gave me the chance to portray a character in which people couldn’t imagine me playing. Since then Sony SAB has been with me like my backbone and my home ground. I have done several shows on Sony SAB and the way they entrusted me with various role has given me a great push as an artiste. Even now for Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga, I am playing the role of an ultimate villain Mallika. It’s their trust that they have offered me such a complex and again entirely different role than what I’ve portrayed so far on Sony SAB. I have always flourished under the SAB family.
For all my fans and viewers’ of Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga, I’d like to say that even though we are in a challenging phase, we all must remember that someday our fast paced lives will again have us hustling leaving little time for our family, so I encourage everyone to relish these days and create the best memories as a family. While you all enjoy this day with your loved ones, stay tuned on Sony SAB for something special coming your way.

Krishna Bharadwaj (Pandit Rama Krishna from Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama)
“Family is the pillars that keep you strong during tough times”
Krishna Bharadwaj, talking about International Day of Families said, “My journey in the field of acting began because of my family as my dad was the one who pushed me to give my first audition. He made sure I give all relevant auditions and my mom has always stood beside me like a pillar through all these years. For an actor, his extended family that includes the co-stars, directors, production team are equally important in shaping this journey.
Sony SAB is a channel that every family member can view together at the same time. The content and the actors that the channel offers, makes it perfect for everyone in the family to be a part of the viewing experience. Although, right now I am away from my family, I feel blessed to be a part of the Sony SAB family and to receive so much love from the viewers. Tenali Rama has given me all that I wanted in life and it’s because of Sony SAB and the viewers.”
Dev Joshi (Baalveer from Sony SAB’s Baalveer Returns)
“Your family identifies the potential in you which even you cannot see and always encourages you to chase your dreams”
I was very young when I stepped into the entertainment industry. I never thought I would be an actor, it was my parents who recognized the potential in me and since then they have poured their heart and soul in making me who I am today. At every step, they have helped me develop my skills, and I consider them as my gurus. I started working at the age of three and from the time I started working in Baalveer, and I am extremely happy that I am still a part of Baalveer family.
On this day, I would like to take a moment to cherish my on-set family as well. The best part about Baalveer Returns is that the consistent team which was a part of Baalveer is here on Baalveer Returns. When we started shooting for Baalveer Returns, it was like I came back to my family. It was familiar and we continue to share the same bond we shared years ago.
To my extended family, the viewers and fans of Baalveer Returns, I want to thank you all this day for all the love and support you have showered me with. Being a part of the Sony SAB family has gifted me an enormous family, my viewers. During these testing times, it is incredible to see how strong the Baalveer Returns family is. I want celebrate this lovely family, on the occasion of international Day of Families, kyuki viewers’ ne dil se bulaya, Baalveer aaya!

Bhakti Rathod (Urmila Thakkar from Sony SAB’s Bhakharwadi)
“Whatever path your life might take, your family always walks that path with you”
My family throughout my journey in the industry has been extremely supportive. They have lived the journey with me and have helped me choose the right career. More importantly, my family has taught me to be fearless and follow my heart says just the way my character Urmila teaches her daughter, Gayatri.
While my family has been with me since day one, the Bhakharwadi team has also turned into family and we can't go a day without speaking to one another. They all have a genuinely special place in my life. This day is also a celebration for Sony SAB which is dedicated to bringing families together with their light hearted shows which celebrate family viewing experience. The Sony SAB and Bhakharwadi viewers’ have been with us through our entire journey and showered us with their love. This encourages me as an artiste to keep pushing my boundaries and deliver the best for my viewers. The International Day of Families is also to celebrate our viewers who are like our extended family and I would like to thank them for their constant love and support.

Gulki Joshi (Haseena Mallik from Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir)
“Families are inspiration to reach great heights and our comfort when we falter”
My family always supported me with my choice in career and all the struggle that came along with it. Whether it is working till late or not being able to meet them. We, as actors, are dependent on many other people who contribute to our success and they eventually end up becoming our extended family. This includes our co-actors, spot boys, accountants and without their support, our work couldn’t be as smooth as it is.
When we talk about families at work, I feel grateful to be a part of this Sony SAB family. The light-hearted content that the channel offers, binds everyone in the family together especially in today’s time when people have started viewing content separately because of the OTT Apps. Sony SAB is a channel that everyone can watch together and have a good time laughing. I have always loved watching Sony SAB shows and am extremely happy I am doing one. With Maddam Sir, I have received so much love from the viewers and it is for them that we have something special coming up this International Day of Families. So stay tuned and spend quality time with your family while at home.
