Mumbai (Anil Bedag): As thousands of people from different corners of the world recited verses from the Bhagavad Gita in unison, the moment turned into much more than just an online event — it became a grand celebration of global spiritual unity. As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, Chinmaya Mission organized ‘Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam’, bringing together devotees worldwide for the collective chanting of the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Purushottama Yoga.
Held on May 9, 2026, the unique initiative witnessed participation from more than 35,000 people across over 70 countries, creating an extraordinary spiritual experience online. Nearly 1,000 trained volunteers from around the world managed the technical operations, guided participants, and supervised recordings for the Guinness World Records submission. Conducted in collaboration with Cisco Webex, the event has now been submitted for recognition under the category of “largest online simultaneous recitation.”
Speaking about the initiative, Chinmaya Mission’s Global Head, Swami Swaroopananda said, “Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam was envisioned as a collective spiritual offering that united humanity through the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. When thousands chant together with one purpose, it becomes a powerful prayer for universal peace and well-being.”
He further added, “The overwhelming participation from across the globe has made this a historic and unforgettable chapter in Chinmaya Mission’s 75-year journey.”
