The 'Safar-e-Shahadat' Light and Sound Show brings alive the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas

Rohtak, December 21, 2025: On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, a light and sound show program, 'Safar-e-Shahadat', dedicated to the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, was organized on Sunday at the auditorium of the Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), courtesy of the Haryana Government and the district administration.

This light and sound show program paid tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Through this show, the heroic saga and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas were brought to life, leaving every spectator in the auditorium deeply moved. 

The audience expressed immense reverence upon witnessing the message of Guru Sahib's sacrifice, valor, and human values come alive. Such events provide the younger generation with an opportunity to learn about the sacrifices and valor of the great martyrs and to draw inspiration from them. On this occasion, tribute was paid to the martyrdom and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas.

'Safar-e-Shahadat' presents a powerful and emotional journey of Sikh martyrdom, beginning with the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, then recounting the historical events of Chamkaur Di Garhi, and culminating in the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. Through impactful storytelling, LED visuals, sound, light effects, animation, and VFX, the show brought these crucial moments to life.

This one-hour light and sound show combines a true historical narrative with modern stage technology to create a cinematic experience that educates and inspires the audience, especially the youth, about the values of courage, faith, and sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. The script has been prepared according to authentic sources of Sikh history, ensuring dignity, respect, and historical accuracy.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that such programs are bringing our history to life. Through these programs, the new generation is being introduced to the glorious and heroic chapters of Sikh history. He said that the objective of this program is to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas for their faith and justice. He added that the government is organizing such programs across the state to commemorate Veer Bal Diwas (Brave Children's Day). At the end of the show, the Deputy Commissioner went on stage to encourage all the artists and honored them with mementos.

The light and sound show featured artists from Chandigarh, including Palwinder Kaur, Vikramjit Singh, Akshayendra Singh, Harpreet Singh Happy, Gurwinder Singh, Harjot Veer Singh, Gurpreet Bindra, Rajwinder Singh, Atinder Singh, and Randhir Singh, who performed under the guidance of director Talwinder Singh Bhullar.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, BJP State Vice President Satish Nandal, RTA Secretary Virender Singh Dhull, SDM Rohtak Ashish Kumar, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, SDM Meham Vipin Kumar, Divisional Commissioner's OSD Shubham, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
