Rohtak, March 6, 2026: Setting an example of dedication to social service and a spirit of humanity, the family of the late former Sarpanch, Comrade Bharat Singh Khatkar, posthumously donated his body to the Anatomy Department of PGIMS, Rohtak, for medical research on Friday.

The 80-year-old late Comrade Bharat Singh Khatkar passed away on March 5th. His son, Rakesh Khatkar, said that his father, a leader of the All India Kisan Sabha and a member of the CPI(M), always fought for the interests of farmers and laborers. Rakesh said that his father had expressed a wish to donate his body posthumously for medical research, which his family fulfilled. His father also inspired others to donate organs and bodies. His body was donated for research by medical students at PGIMS, Rohtak, on Friday.

Body donation incharge Dr Kamal Singh said that his decision is an inspiration for the society. He said that body donation is a great deed, which gives medical students an opportunity to learn and in future they can serve the society by becoming better doctors.

Dr Aarti also appealed to the people to come forward for organ donation and body donation. Dr Gopal said that a person willing to donate organs can go to the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization located in room no. 17 in the Medical Superintendent's office and fill out the organ donation affidavit online. During this, Dr Suman, Dr Anju, Dr Sonia Beniwal, Dr Alex Lawrence, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr Namrata Kaushik, Dr Shankar and Dr Ayush were present.
