Teacher’s role in drive students from darkness of ignorance to light of knowledge

The programme held on Role of Guru and NEP 2020’ at Google Meet
Chandigarh: Today on 5th September 2020 at the occasion of Teacher’s Day, Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies organised a programme Role of Guru & NEP 2020’ at Google Meet. Research Scholars, students of the Department and a few alumni remained associated with the programme and they explained India’s Guru-Shishya Tradition and significant role of Teacher in students life and also its relevance in context of NEP 2020.
Prof. Jaspal Kaur Kaang, Academic Incharge of Dept. welcomed alumni Dr. Kamaljit Kaur from SD College Hoshiarpur, Dr. Amardip Kaur from MCM DAV College Chandigarh, Dr. Rajpreet Kaur from A.S. College Khanna and Dr. Puneet Kaur from Khalsa College Mohali. All alumni shared their research experiences and old memories spent in the Dept. of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies. Prof. Jaspal Kaur Kaang remembered the senior Professors and Chairpersons who contributed a lot in making the high esteem of the Department and Who also played an important role to take the legacy of the Department ahead. Dr. Kaang expressed her respect and pride in remembering Prof. Gurubachan Singh Talib founder of the department, Prof. H. S. Shan, Prof. Darshan Singh and Prof. Santosh Sharma and other officiating chairmen of the department from time to time. She paid special homage to Prof. Darshan Singh and Prof. Shankar Ji Jha in her address. She thanked all alumni, Research Students and non-teaching staff who associated with the function for a long hour.
