LPU Hosted 65+ International Delegates from 20+ Countries at the 5th Annual International Conference and Global Summit 2026
8 international MoUs signed as global university leaders convene at LPU to advance academic collaboration and outcome driven partnerships
Jalandhar, October 27, 2026: Bringing the world’s leading academic minds together, Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted the fifth edition of the Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS 2026), welcoming university leaders and international delegates from more than 20 countries. The three day conference was organised under the theme “Connected Futures: Where Global University Partnerships Deliver Real Impact,” focusing on the role of international collaboration in advancing higher education, research and cross border academic opportunities.
The summit witnessed the signing of 8 new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading international institutions across 7 countries, including Switzerland, the United States, Estonia, Cyprus, Germany, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. The partner institutions include Swiss School of Management, Samuel Merritt University, Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, University of Central Missouri, European University Cyprus, German Varsity, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and City University Ajman. These agreements open avenues for joint research, academic exchange and collaborative programmes, further connecting LPU’s students and faculty with the global academic community.
The grand inaugural ceremony brought together Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro Chancellor of LPU, Dr. Aman Mittal, Vice President of LPU, Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor of LPU, and distinguished international delegates and representatives of partner universities from across the globe. The fifth edition also marked a significant milestone in AICGS’s journey, further establishing the summit as a platform for global academic dialogue, institutional engagement and collaborative opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. (Col.) Rashmi Mittal, Pro Chancellor, LPU, emphasized the importance of building international partnerships that extend beyond formal agreements and create lasting opportunities for students and faculty. She emphasized that the true value of internationalization lies in the people who bring partnerships to life through shared learning, academic exchange and sustained engagement. She encouraged delegates to interact with LPU students, explore its academic environment and experience India’s cultural diversity, noting that such interactions can broaden perspectives and strengthen mutual understanding.
Dr. Aman Mittal, Vice President, LPU, highlighted the growth of the university’s international network, which has expanded from 260 international MoUs in 2022 to over 600 international MoUs and partnerships today. Dr. Aman Mittal emphasized that successful internationalization is measured not by the number of agreements signed, but by the opportunities they create. Dr. Aman noted that student exchange, faculty mobility, joint research, co-authored publications, doctoral co-supervision, and collaborative academic programs remain central to LPU’s approach to building meaningful global partnerships.
The summit also turned attention to a critical question facing international higher education: how can universities ensure that global partnerships deliver tangible results? The panel discussion, “Beyond the MoU: Measuring What University Partnerships Actually Deliver,” under the sub theme “MoUs Don’t Change Universities. People Do,” examined the importance of moving from formal commitments to active collaboration, with a focus on meaningful academic engagement, student and faculty participation, and measurable institutional outcomes.
As LPU marks 25 years of its journey, LPU’s Division of International Affairs has established international network of more than 600 MoUs and partnerships reflects its continued engagement with the global higher education community.
